Overview
The frequency, timing and magnitude characteristics of all wildfires in a region is known as the wildfire ‘regime’. One particular aspect of the wildfire regime in which I am interested is the nature of the relationship between the frequency and magnitude components - the frequency-area scaling relationship. Accurate estimation of the risk of wildfire occurrence in a region is useful for management of wildfire hazard and another of my research interests. Finally, modelling the behaviour (spread) of wildfire is a further research interest.
