Direction not Destination

Eeny Meeny Miney Mo

I started this blog, Direction not Destination, during summer 2006. The name comes from a discussion I had with a friend once. My general point was that it's more important to know what direction you're going in than what your final destination is. Can we ever predict where we'll end up? How do we know when we've got there? Life and Landscapes: The route to discovery is important, the modelling is as important as the model, process is as important as product.

Direction not Destination is linked to my website landscapemodelling.net and I will be using it to document my activities and thoughts. These thoughts usually focus around Geography, Landscapes and Landscape Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Wildfire, Computer Modelling, the Internet, the Natural Environment, Science and the Future in general... There's a full list of the topics discussed below.

Feel free to leave comments. You should get a good idea about by who I am and what my work is about just from reading the blog, but also check my main website or feel free to get in touch directly.
